Our goal should not be to ensure that young people are simply finishing school but to make certain that every student has built a ‘portfolio’ of skills and capabilities with which to thrive in the new economy.
Based on all that is known about how students learn, the predictions for the world they will face after leaving school and the vast disparities of opportunity and privilege that have existed for centuries, continuing to use a traditional, one-size-fits-all approach to teaching and learning amounts to educational malpractice.
